Shallow Medium Softener Overview The technology of shallow medium filter is from Israel's advanced technology with innovative design concept. The structure of the fresh design is a new comer in sand filter industry. All plastic shallow sand filter system adopts modular design, the sand filter layer thickness is only 40 cm. It overcomes shortages of the traditional sand filter from backwashing yellow water, incomplete backwashing, heavy equipment and so on. According to the flow and site conditions it can be flexible combination. Characteristics 1. Water distributor can distribute non-filter water equally passing through the filter layer even on high flow, and keep a water level over the filter layer. 2. In the spherical shell there are 55 mushroom-like water collectors. When backwashing, a inside circle current will form effectively and keep filter sand inside. Filter surface is made of composite materials, which has high pressure weight ratio and corrosion resistance. The shell is molded made in one time. 3. The filter has two big openings, the top one is used for observing and charging, the bottom one is used for clearing and maintaining. Each opening is completely leakproof by the hydraulic closed, it is safe and reliable. 4. The filter has 55 mushroom-like collectors which have pressure differential compensation. It makes hydraulic balance inside the system in filtering mode, which can keep high filtration velocity and efficiency. In the condition of backwashing, it can form a inside circulation, which can keep high efficiency backwashing and keep the filtering sand inside. 5. The inner layer of filter is made from black polyethylene, which can endure environmental pressure, prevent embrittlement and chemical attack. Principle Filtering state: When the system is in a state of filtration, unfiltered water pass through the distributors, cooperate with spherical shell, then averagely flow through the filtering layer. Then impurities trap inside the layer. There are 55 sets of mushroom-like water collectors at the bottom, which collect filtered water. The averagely flow can ensure filter under high velocity and can still achieve better filtering effect. Backwashing condition: The pressure loss will continue to increase along with the continuously accumulated impurities in filtering layer. When the loss of pressure reaches a preset limit, the system will automatically convert to backwash status, to remove the impurities accumulated.
